Ah. I think you're operating under something of a misconception, son: most places in Canada are now quite up to date, and there are few left where power and water can't be found. For most of the year, at least -- those Yukon winters can get a bit dicey. [GOD, HE MISSES THE YUKON.]
It's not all that different from certain very rural towns in the States, as a matter of fact. Not to mention, Alaska, which faces its own unique challenges as America's northernmost locale.
